Research Assistant 2/Bioinformatician
Skander holds a Master’s in Bioinformatics from Université de Montréal. During his time in Dr. Alexandre Prat’s lab at the CHUM Research Centre (2020–2025), he worked on transcriptomic analyses of multiple sclerosis and investigated human brain endothelial responses to inflammatory cytokines. In September 2025, he joined Dr. Thebault’s lab, where he applies bioinformatics and machine learning to integrate multi-omics and clinical data to study neuroinflammation and MS. Outside the lab, he enjoys soccer, training, and traveling.
Research Associate/Lab Manager
Unain joined Dr. Thebault's lab after completing her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Montreal, where she worked on characterization of ex vivo expanded hematopoeitic stem cells. She joined the group in August 2025, with the challenge of applying her technical skills and expertise to biomarker and immune cell characterization in MS patients. When not in the lab, you can find her invested in her latest hyperfixations - crocheting or perfecting a recipe!
Post-Doctoral Fellow
Ana is a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Simon Thebault’s lab at the Montreal Neurological Institute at McGill University. She joined the team in October 2025 after completing her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at the Lady Davis Institute, where she studied mechanisms of HIV latency. Her research interests center on host–pathogen interactions, and she’s currently exploring how Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) may contribute to the development of MS. Her work bridges immunovirology and neuroscience, drawing from her experience in spectral flow cytometry, immunoassays, and cell culture. Outside the lab, she can usually be found watching new series, crocheting, or trying out her latest DIY craft idea.
M.Sc Student
Alex joined Dr. Thebault's lab in 2025 pursuing an MSc in Neuroscience. He studies regulatory T-cell dysfunction as a driver of multiple sclerosis progression, aiming to connect immune phenotypes with clinical outcomes. Alex holds a BSc in Systems and Information Biology from Concordia University and has hands-on experience in enzymology and pharmaceutical research. Outside of the lab, Alex enjoys attending local concerts, reading sci-fi, and hanging out with his cat.
M.Sc Student
Muhammad earned his medical degree from the University of Jordan in 2023. His research interests focus on co-morbidities and how they affect the prognostic utility of biomarkers in multiple sclerosis, reflecting a broader commitment to improving the integration of clinical insights and translational neuroscience. Outside his work, he enjoys hiking, target practice, and reading.
